Kate Hudson is set to release her first studio album, "Glorious," this Friday. Known for her acting career starting with the 2000 film "Almost Famous," Hudson revealed to People that music has always been her "first love." Despite her success in Hollywood, including roles in romantic comedies like "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days," her musical aspirations were sidelined. Hudson, 45, showcased her vocal talents in films like "Nine" and "Music."

Hudson's musical journey was significantly influenced by her collaboration with rock journalist-turned-director Cameron Crowe on "Almost Famous," which broadened her musical horizons. In her personal life, she has maintained close ties with musicians, having been married to Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes and engaged to Matt Bellamy of Muse. Her current fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, is also a musician.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Hudson felt a renewed urge to pursue music more seriously, leading her to work on "Glorious." The album, which includes contributions from her family, has taken a significant amount of time to perfect. Hudson will celebrate the album's release with a concert this Saturday at The Bellwether in Los Angeles.

Hudson promoted the gig and shared behind-the-scenes content on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse into her preparation process.
