Los Angeles, CA — Will Smith and Martin Lawrence made a surprise appearance at an early screening of their new movie, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, in Los Angeles this week. Smith, 55, announced the event on Instagram with a selfie before the theater event on Wednesday night.

Arriving at the theater, Smith and Lawrence, who star as Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, were greeted by enthusiastic moviegoers. The actors handed out free popcorn and water bottles and spent time engaging with fans.

Addressing the audience, Smith highlighted the significance of the event, mentioning that they were the first to see the completed film. He added that special screenings were also taking place in cities including Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, New York, DC, Miami, and Atlanta.

Bad Boys: Ride Or Die is the fourth installment in the action-comedy franchise and will be released on Friday, June 6. Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the film resumes the story from Bad Boys For Life (2020).

Besides Smith and Lawrence, returning cast members include Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, DJ Khaled, and Jacob Scipio. New additions to the cast are Tasha Smith, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Rhea Seehorn, and Joyner Lucas.

Filming for the movie began in April 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, and Miami, Florida, but was interrupted by the SAG-AFTRA strike, which ended on November 9, 2023. Filming resumed in the new year and concluded on March 4 in Miami.

The Bad Boys franchise has seen significant box office success since its inception. The latest film aims to continue this trend, with its global release set for June 7.
