The Kirkbymoorside Primary School’s Year 5-6 Cricket team participated in the Yorkshire Finals held at Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club in Leeds after successfully navigating the preliminary rounds. The team secured the runners-up position in their group, winning two of three games. Anna Aspery, the school's PE Lead, praised the team for their skill and talent, noting that they ranked above hundreds of schools throughout Yorkshire. Kirkbymoorside Primary expressed pride in the team's achievements.

Additionally, a new multi-storey car park has opened at Steeton and Silsden railway station in West Yorkshire. The free car park, which accommodates 245 vehicles, is part of a £7 million initiative by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to enhance train service access, alleviate congestion, and reduce carbon emissions.
