Russian forces launched an overnight attack on Ukraine involving 21 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs early on June 19. The drones were fired from Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia and Cape Chauda in Crimea. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted 19 of these drones across the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv regions.
Specifically, in Lviv Oblast, all five inbound Shahed drones were downed by air defenses. However, one drone managed to damage civilian infrastructure in the village of Malekhiv, resulting in injuries to two individuals: a 70-year-old man and a 47-year-old man. The attack also shattered 20 windows in a multi-story residential building, damaged an office building, and broke windows in five other buildings.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, four Shahed drones were destroyed over the Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol districts. No damages or injuries were reported in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, and Khmelnytskyi where drones were also intercepted.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups were all involved in repelling the attack.
