These digital analysts, such as “Ethan” and “Alex,” autonomously investigate and resolve security issues, operating as entry-level analysts that can autonomously make context-aware decisions. Cyn.Ai, for example, provides AI-powered cloud security solutions capable of analysing complex data to detect and prioritise threats, including phishing attacks, with a high degree of sophistication. However, experts caution that deploying these AI agents without stringent oversight risks organisational security. Ensuring transparent audit trails, human supervision, and adherence to “least agency” principles is essential to mitigate the chance of these AI agents acting inappropriately or causing harm.

Nevertheless, Gartner anticipates that by 2028, agentic AI will autonomously make 15% of business decisions, reflecting its growing but evolving role in enterprises.

Tech industry surveys underline a pattern of rapid AI adoption, particularly among technology companies. An Ernst & Young survey found that nearly half of technology executives have either adopted or fully deployed agentic AI, with many expecting autonomous deployments to exceed 50% within two years.
