Giorgi, aged 32, had not participated in tennis since her match at the Miami Open on March 23, where she faced Iga Swiatek. Following this, there were reports that the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) had lost contact with her. The International Tennis Integrity Agency later listed her status as 'retired'.
Besides her sports career, Giorgi has attracted attention for her venture into the fashion and modeling industries. She owns a fashion company named Giomila and is known for sharing styled photographs on social media platforms.
The Italian star has recently been involved in controversies, including allegations of her using a fake COVID-19 vaccination certificate to participate in the 2022 Australian Open. These accusations are part of an ongoing investigation, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 16 in Vicenza, Italy.
